Show Your Colours at Boxpark

The folks at Reeves, the original art supplies company, are kicking off a UK tour in London with a two-day event on 15th and 16th at Boxpark, Shoreditch, in partnership with CASS ART. Stop by and show your colours at the GIF booth, get involved with a spot of postcard making and flower pot painting and enjoy awesome goodie bags and delicious drinks from Pococello and Sparkling Ice. Take home one or two tips from professional illustrator Elliot Kruszynski and see his designs brought to life. See you there! #WeAreReeves

Mind of an Urban Spaceman at We Built This City

The team at award-winning​ ​Carnaby​ ​Street​ ​store​ ​​We​ ​Built​ ​This​ ​City​​ ​have stepped up their game for LDF17 with a bigger and better storefront than we’ve ever seen; and as you Londoners will know, WBTC have had some pretty impressive windows in the past. The brilliant creative gift-shopping destination has teamed up with artist ​​Olly​ ​Fathers​​ to create an immersive showcase titled Mind​ ​of​ ​an​ ​Urban​ ​Spaceman; an alternative cityscape ​​featuring inspiring and colourful perspectives of the capital. So, if you’ve not yet laid out your itinerary for London Design Festival, make sure a trip to see this wicked 3D installation ​is top of your list.

Crafty Fox Market at the Bussey Building

The incredible Crafty Fox Market is back with its autumn edition at the CLF Art Cafe. Taking place at Peckham’s iconic Bussey Building on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September, meet more than 55 hand-picked traders selling a range of art prints, jewellery, textiles, ceramics, gifts and more. Part of the buzzing Peckham Festival, get stuck into a range of creative workshops, a fully stocked bar and enjoy the sounds of Crafty Fox’s DJs all day. One of creative London’s institutions, I can’t get enough of this event and I can’t wait to visit again this month.

THE LONDON ARTISAN at London Design Festival

You’ll no doubt know that The London Artisan is another of my favourite of the city’s creative markets so I’m thrilled to share the news that TLA is hosting a very special event as part of London Design Festival. Expect a bigger and better fair with 50 designer-makers selling their wares and inspiring the city’s crowds. Drop by the old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch and say hello, shop for brilliant handmade design-led products and immerse yourself in London’s talent

Burger Battle at Hackney Downs Vegan Market

If you haven’t yet visited Fat Gay Vegan’s monthly vegan market in collaboration with EAT WORK ART, it’s time to get over to Hackney Downs and drink in the goodness. Join hundreds of people seeking the city’s best vegan eats and treats and discover a specially curated line up of food stalls from across London and beyond. Get into the battle of the burgers at September’s edition and gorge on the most delicious plant-based patties on offer.

10 Years of Designers in Residence at the Design Museum

To mark 10 years of Designers in Residence, the Design Museum has teamed up with members of its prestigious alumni for one-off celebratory event for London Design Festival. Since 2007, the programme has provided emerging designers with time and space away from their regular environment to reflect, research and consider new ways of developing their practice. Join the museum’s inspiring alumni for an afternoon of talks, presentations and activities that reflect on a decade of creativity, innovative and experimental design practice.

Design Frontiers at Somerset House

Design Frontiers celebrates London as the centre of design excellence, with thought-provoking and inspiring work from the 30 designers renowned for shaping and leading their respective disciplines. From automotive to fashion, product design to graphics, Design Frontiers will fill the Terrace Rooms and West Wing Galleries of Somerset House with a series of installations and exhibitions showing how these designers push the frontiers of the design world.

Water Exhibition at the Copeland Gallery, Bussey Building

For London Design Festival 2017, a group of 13 design studios are coming together at the Copeland Gallery in Peckham’s Bussey Building to explore Water. Each of them has created a new work for the exhibition, responding – creatively, technologically or emotionally – to water and the vital role it plays in the natural and human world. Discover a huge spectrum of products, projects and installations from ceramics and electronics to robotics and lighting. A truly inspirational showcase, this is not an event to be missed.

London Sketchbook Festival Pop-Up at The Archivist’s Gallery

The lovely team at the London Sketchbook Festival have teamed up with beautiful indie shop Alboaeto stage an exhibition and pop-up shop at Hagerstown’s Archivist space. Bringing together local artists, designers and makers for a ten-day market, the partnership will be showcasing amazing handcrafted jewellery, art prints, stationery, gifts and more so head over for a little inspiration and get your shop on.

London Design Fair 2017 at Old Truman Brewery

Located in the creative heart of east London, the London Design Fair is a four-day industry event that brings together 500 exhibitors from 28 countries, including independent designers, established brands, international country pavilions, features and exhibitions. As the destination of the annual London Design Festival for press, professionals, buyers and more, this is a brilliant spot to visit to scope out amazing talent and hear an excellent line-up of industry talks.

THE COLLECTOR’S CURSE: Marc Quinn at the Soane Museum

Join London Drawing Group for this one-off class set in the unique environment of the Sir John Soane Museum, London celebrating the temporary installation of sculptures by the contemporary artist Marc Quinn, as well as the collection itself. One of Britain’s most enigmatic and eccentric collectors, at the height of his architectural fame, Soane outbid the British Museum at auctions, filling his Holborn home to the brim with antique sculptures, medieval church carvings, doric columns, Egyptian sarcophagi and a seemingly endless collection of oddities. Explore the collection from a visual and historical perspective, take part in exercises tailored to the exceptional content of the Museum and explore how these collections can inspire our drawings.

Short Films by Female Directors & Networking at The Book Club

The Film Bunch is a group that runs monthly screening and networking events in London to showcase short films made by filmmakers from all over the world, making them accessible to everybody. Celebrate female directors at this unique event at The Book Club in Shoreditch. View nine varied short films, check out new talent and meet collaborators at a networking session over a drink or two afterwards.

Eertmug Pop-Up in Shoreditch High Street

Eertmug, a new Scandi-styled homeware and furniture brand, will be coming to London’s Shoreditch high-street in the form of a gorgeous pop-up, giving you a chance to explore the brand’s bespoke collection of items with all proceeds from sales going to the Centrepoint charity. Nasty Women at Stour Space

Nasty Women is a free exhibition and weekend of talks, comedy, spoken word, live music and workshops. The show, which interrogates presentations of women and girls in the media much like our inaugural exhibition with the YGT Collective, includes 2D work, sculpture, sound installations, street art, performance, baked goods and an immersive art installation where visitors will be able to create their own artwork in Virtual Reality. All artworks are for sale and all proceeds will be donated End Violence Against Women, a leading coalition of specialist women’s support services, researchers, activists, survivors and NGOs working to end violence against women and girls in all its forms.

Open Weekend at the Forge

Exciting news! The Forge, Craft Central’s brand new home, is opening its doors to the public. Ste inside the historic building and explore how it has been imaginatively converted to house Craft Central and its host of resident creatives and makers. Take part in craft workshops led by London Craft Club; enjoy a taster exhibition of work by a selection of their designer-makers; and learn about The Forge’s industrial past from the Friends of the Island History Trust. This is a big moment in London’s craft history so don’t miss the chance to stop by.

Wellness Weekender at DRINK SHOP & DO

OFFF London 2017 at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

OFFF, let’s feed the future, the international creativity festival that unites the worlds of graphic design, moving image, digital, music and performance, is coming to the UK for the first time this month. Head to Hackney for a series of conferences and workshops, performances and activities.  A meeting point for collaborators and cultural commotion, where students and emerging talents join to get inspired and share new interests, this day is set to be a real eye opener. Confirmed speakers like Territory, MUCHO, Ricardo Cavolo, Future Deluxe, Studio XO, The Mill and many more will be headlining the line-up so grab your tickets and be inspired.
