Summer is here and amid all the ice lollies, pub gardens and lazy weekends in grassy parks we’ve scoping out great things to do, make and see in London. We’ve recently had the pleasure of featuring a fantastic bunch of creatives, stores and spots in the city that are worth checking out and have shared a few snippets of exciting news in the process. What draws us to the people and places that we showcase is usually their unique stories and the quality and conscientiousness of their work, but really, what we love the most is the sense of the unexpected that comes with meeting and experiencing the fresh, fanciable, not yet familiar and occasionally undiscovered.
While we’re on the subject of the unexpected, we’re also regularly amazed at how perfectly on-point bands, brands, creatives and independents can be when it comes to creating, tailoring or curating something just for us. It seems that the best experiences are always just around the corner. Given this positive shift towards personal and immersive events, creations, products and spaces, we’re really excited about how big high-street names have also begun to embrace our lifestyles through their use of space and creative presentation, our values through new processes, collections and collaborations and our cultures through great music and art. As such, the next of the awesome London-based events on our radar this season takes place on Thursday 23rd July.
Fashion superstore and new music scouts H&M are giving us a little something to look forward to by launching a pop-up store at one of our favourite Shoreditch venues The Old Truman Brewery. This isn’t a regular pop-up and the focus certainly won’t be limited to street style, summer fashion or trend-hunting. H&M have pulled out all the stops to host a string of lock-ins every Thursday for six weeks of summer parties featuring one-off events, creative workshops, DJ sets from some of our favourite acts and a few of our friends including Noisey, Shorebitch and Rough Trade, exclusive shopping experiences and even an open bar. Open from 8pm until 10pm every week, we’re gearing up for the first of these events featuring the one-and-only Nasty McQuaid.
H&M’s DIVIDED range has remained a wardrobe lifeline ever since our mums stopped buying us clothes, and from way back when to the current day, it’s always been there to rescue us from the most severe style disasters. Seeing as H&M have always had our back, we’re stoked to be adding another new discovery that’s fresh but perhaps not that unexpected, in the form of cold beers, creative workshops, great music and ever-covetable threads all under one roof. Join us at the first of a series of after-dark events on Thursday 23rd July from 8pm and kick off your summer in style. Sign up for your free tickets here.
