Tan Tan is a unique fashion brand and studio based in Taipei, Taiwan. Established just last year, Tan Tan puts a fresh spin on everyday style. Their pieces, cut in oversized vintage-inspired styles in cool mossy hues, are printed with giant beetles and cute dinosaurs, ideal for the discerning forest-fanciers amongst you. Each of their garments is produced by and with creative in mind. From fabrics to colour palettes and illustrated repeating-prints, the Tan Tan label seems to nail it every time.
With only a few collections released to date, each item in the brand’s lookbook stands out. We’re especially enamoured of their collaborative collection with Hsiao-Ron Cheng, a Taiwanese artist and illustrator. Her distinctive style of working has earned her a spot on the Young Illustrator Award shortlist and countless fashion and design clients worldwide and it’s not hard to see why. Her fantastic prints and fresh styling come together in the latest Tan Tan collection to produce a range of pieces that exude playful, pared-down yet totally original vibes.
With new and splendid pastel-toned images surfacing in Tan Tan land on a regular basis, it’s clear that this label is one to watch. We can get enough of their candy-pink oil painting-inspired studio shots and dino-patterned socks, though perhaps our favourite thing about Tan Tan is how comfortable and effortlessly cool their clothes look. Give us a button-down midi dress adorned with creepy crawlies over skinny jeans and a t-shirt any day.
