Not too long ago we were in raptures over a tantalising new subscription service and a crafty London-based event to kick it off. Intrigued by the promise of ‘Random acts of Craft’ in the heart of Brick Lane, and even more so by rumours of a gift box filled with lifestyle-led treats likely to inspire and delight, we kept our eyes on This GOOD Box for further news. At this stage we knew that this monthly subscription package was nothing like the well-known beauty boxes we’re so used to seeing pop up on our feeds; this one was special.
Created by Lianne Howard-Dace, This GOOD Box is a carefully curated ethical subscription service that’s heading up the kindness revolution. With its roots in doing good and feeling good, the monthly gift box is filled with affordable brands that work to make a difference. These tasters are not only thoughtful, delicious, luxurious, creative and 100% good for you, they’re also handpicked in order to help you make new connections with awesome independents and organisations. The packages even contain bits and pieces that are perfect for sharing and gifting, should you want to carry out a few personal acts of kindness.
Each box features a theme with products to match and this month’s was pretty topical for the likes of us. The ‘Create’ theme proffered some fantastic goodies which encouraged us to discover our creative fabric doodling and textiles talents and to try out a little art and design-based activism, plus some lovely lifestyle products from the likes of Filberts of Dorset and Chocolate and Love. We especially loved the fresh white canvas bag, inspiring sticker (we love a good sticker) and beautiful list of contents, which doubles up as a poster reminding us to ‘create change’.
Though This GOOD Box chiefly focuses on curating boxes for women, we’re pretty sure that every man we know would love the Create box and its contents. A selection of eco-friendly, socially conscious products that don’t compromise on unashamed self-indulgence is definitely a treat that can be shared by all. At least, it seems that way to us given that This Good Box doesn’t just stop at posting luxuries to homes across the planet every month. The organisation is dedicated to building, not just a community of subscribers, but a network of people who care enough to join in, get creative and make an impact together.
We’re pretty proud to be friends of This GOOD Box and who knows, maybe you’ll be too. Get started by subscribing and ordering a box for yourself, a friend, someone you fancy or somebody you love and get a special £10 discount on your first box by entering the code ‘YGT’. Just doing our bit to spread the love, y’know? We can’t wait to take a peek at June’s gift box which, rumour has it, will be the perfect addition to a summer holiday, wherever or however you choose to spend it.
