Mica Peet creates handmade, quirky creations, which capture the beauty of the natural world. A fashion and textiles graduate and illustrator base in Southsea, her pieces also feature contemporary and often abstract designs. We think the marriage of the two is basically the best thing since peanut butter met strawberry jam.

By bringing together two entirely different worlds, Mica has created a unique and beautiful collection of work, which spans from neat little earrings and larger pieces of jewellery and iPhone cases, to illustrations and snappy home decor accessories.

She originally began making jewellery to fund a project whilst at university in 2012, but since then, her business has grown and her products have branched out into a vast selection of forms, all sold via her Etsy shop. Her collection is so diverse that, should you want to, you could sate every need and fill every corner of your home.

Her gorgeous, layered and edgy designs are not only original, they’re adaptable too. We’re fans of the affordable prices, ranging on average between £8 – £20. We know where we’ll be going for creative gifts from now on.

Mica’s designs are a mix of marvellous abstract patterns and a kaleidoscope of colours, which include bright pops of mint and raspberry. She combines geometric shapes with cute outlines of deer, foxes and hares, lending the simple and natural shapes she works with, a cutting-edge quality.

The process for making her jewellery sounds painstaking. She spends a great amount of time laser-cutting thin pieces of MDF, transferring her original designs and sealing with varnish. Sometime artist, occasional surface pattern designer, and non-stop mogul, Mica’s unique vision offers up a treasure-box of possibility. We’re in love.
