It’s been a good few months since we mentioned our obsession with East London-based boutique, The White Pepper, and we’re chuffed to see they’re still putting the pep in the Pepper, with oversized buckles, fine flower prints and prim ‘n’ proper tweeds maintaining that street-cool, vintage-inspired brilliance.
We seem to have an obsession with statement pieces and The White Pepper are certainly not going to let us ignore it easily. The blend of in-house design, indie-designer originals and the individual vintage pieces make The White Pepper a truly wonderful online shopping haven. Just beware of the makes-you-stare-intensely-with-eyes-of-love syndrome it may bring on if you’re browsing the site out and about. TWP’s classic English breakfast-inspired Autumn collection is where it’s at and, it’s got its own stand-alone bag collection. The White Pepper are doing all the bags, you guys!
From over-sized jackets to mustard bombers, the new collection is all about streamlined and effortless tailoring, though bright patterns keep it fresh too. It’s quirky, without being too loud or offensive. The ‘fried egg’ twin-set top and skirt is one of our absolute favourites and is shown off pretty perfectly in TWP’s cute breakfast-inspired autumn video. These garments seem to be all about ease, and look damn cool because of it. Block colours make the pieces bold, whilst zips, collars and pockets show attention to detail and play with form, plus, those loose cuts mean movement is key.
One of our favoured autumn get-ups is the Bean Embroidery Suit, teamed with the Unicorn Clutch in Black Matte; the perfect mix of androgyny and girly cuteness. The cropped trousers give this suit a touch of casual-glamour and the orange on navy is a punchy combination. The White Pepper channels a refreshingly individual streak, with adventurous, bold and unapologetic pieces. This is exactly what we’ll be needing as we edge into the dark depths of Winter and clothes typically take a duller tone. We love The White Pepper and can’t wait to see where they head next. We’re huge fans of their Instagram feed too. Christmas party outfit ideas and original images galore, worth a peek, we think.
