Tiffany Bozic is a self-taught artist currently living and working in Marin, California. Drawing inspiration from the redwood forests and clear skies around her, she creates images that depict detailed narratives of science and nature. Tiffany employs a complex creative process which aptly reflects her work’s subject-matter. Masking and staining panels of maple wood, she applies layers of watered-down acrylic paint in order to optimise the natural wood grain and achieve a natural, collaborative effect.Tiffany’s work is a bend of traditional sketches of the organic and surreal, figurative themes. Her continued use of roundels evoke notions of cyclical transition and symbiosis in the natural world. Her subjects are inspired by travels to wild places and the research specimens at San Francisco’s California Academy of Sciences. These peculiar wildlife paintings provide a contemporary and somewhat poetic insight into the biology of life, through the artist’s eyes.
