Katherine Tromans is a Birmingham based illustrator and graphic designer whose candy-coloured work is a breath of fresh air. Her lovely illustrations have a soft, ethereal quality that warms the heart. Having recently studied illustration in Birmingham, Katherine has continued to create images that communicate an other-wordly simplicity, exploring themes of paradise and magic. She has worked with the likes of Ammo, Elle and Amelia’s magazines, for whom she has produced sweet fashion editorials and portrait illustrations, tinged with dreamy pastel swathes of colour.
With it’s strong depictions of shining crystals and colourful animals, Katherine’s work speaks to the imagination, though finds its roots in the everyday themes of style, family, nature and personal adventure. Reminiscent of fantastical, Tolkienesque landscapes and settlements, these detailed illustrations, from her final university project are a personal favourite from Katherine’s beautiful portfolio.
